about the creative:

Philadelphia’s own Angelo Saunders is a creative stylist based in NYC. His balance between a high-end feel and a classic home touch gives his clients what he likes to call a “hood-chic” look. His love for fashion dates back to his high-school days. Wearing a uniform during his schooling forced him to be more creative with his style. Originally a professional industry dancer in Los Angeles, Angelo has worked with many iconic artists. From Touring with Pharrell, to Kendrick Lamar’s debut “DAMN” album performance, and featuring in Beyonce’s Netflix “Beychella” documentary. Angelo has been in the creative field for about 10 years now. He then moved to New York in 2020 to focus on his direction with creative curating. Angelo is currently working with Dover Street Market New York, while styling outfits for artists today.

Angelo took a classic fashion approach on styling the forward album cover. Using a full suit from “Doublet” who is known for their fun whimsical ironic-styled clothing, and choosing the colors pink and green which Paid homage to Jodan’s mom’s old sorority colors. This outfit was a perfect match to help give the cover that iconic look and “picture day” feel.

A$ap tyy

C.P. Company collaborated with artist A$AP TyY for their campaign in Summer 2023. This shoot was a great example to showcase another hood-chic vision of Angelo’s. Tying in the two collaborators styles. With TyY being a born and raised Harlem artist and known for his “bike life” in the streets and mixing it with CP Company’s famous goggle jackets. This campaign was highlighted in their “Eyes on the city” exhibition in Brooklyn, New York.

Angelo worked on styling Jordan Ward’s hit music video “White Crocs”. With the video direction being in black and white, Angelo took a clean suit approach to give a iconic look for Jordan. Paying attention to detail with putting him in black Balenciaga croc tall boots and the iconic white crocs. Keeping his eyes hidden behind flatlist shades to keep the look and feel of the video classic.

Angelo’s personal take with oversized suiting and throwing it off with wearing a baseball fitted hat, was excuted perfectly in the “idc” music video with Jordan and Joony. A very effortless look on both artists, gave the feel of a mid 1990’s NBA draft day. Sourcing actual big and tall suits from the 90’s, tailoring them to thier liking and adding colorful alligator shoes to make the outfit pop.
